House Work!

Ok so we have a ton to do to get our house ready for baby girl.

First a little explanation of my house.  You walk in to the top story of my house.  This is the main level that we live on (kitchen, living room, laundry room, etc).  Also, our master bedroom is upstairs.  Downstairs there are three other bedrooms.  One of them is another master suite which is the guest room right now...lake view, door opens onto deck, large closet, etc.  The other room also has lake views and is quite big....also has a door that opens to the deck.  This room is my husband's office right now.  More on that in a minute.  The third bedroom (which we call the red room) is on the other side (non lake side) of the house and is smaller with no windows.  We have two queen size beds in there right now so we can sleep a ton of people at my house.

Ok so baby girls room is going to be where my husband's office is right now...the second spacious bedroom downstairs.  We are moving his office to the little room with no windows.  His office right now is a complete mess.  I mean it was organized when we moved in almost five years ago but it has just gone downhill ever since.  The closets have bookcases that are full of books and now the books are piling up on the floor.  He used to work out of the office about two evenings a week but now he doesn't actually work in there as much.  I really want to create a place for him to go and unwind...chill out...relax.  We have decided that instead of having a couch in his office we would leave one of the queen size beds in there that way we can still sleep a lot of people (like when his family comes to stay).  Here are a few pics of his office now (baby girls future nursery)......It is almost embarrassing to show these...but I want to remember!
when you first walk in....

There are books stacked behind the couch as well...
There are shelves between these doors that are also full of books...I told y'all...he hoards books!

So, as you can see, lots of stuff to move out and get organized!  The only thing we have done in this room so far is organize all the stuff on the floor.  Everything is ready to be moved into his new office once that room is ready....

Now on to the red room (his future office).  This room is WAY more organized than the other one.  The closet was full of stuff but we cleaned it out in about an hour.

We have completely cleaned out this closet.  I am getting bookshelves built into this closet from floor to ceiling.  HOPEFULLY this will house all the books!  The guy is supposed to come install them in about 2 weeks.  Then I will have them painted and then we will be ready to move everything in!  I have already purchased a new quilt and shams for the bed that is going to stay in there and a huge rug.  The colors I am doing are like browns, golds, and maybe a little blue.  I can't wait to get all the stuff in this room.  Once this is done then we can paint baby girls room!  There is lots to do but I am sort of in a holding pattern until I get the shelves.

The other issue is this.  Our bedroom right now is upstairs.  The nursery is downstairs.  We said when we moved in that we would move our bedroom to the downstairs master suite when we had a baby.  We just feel like it is too far from her.  I know that she will be in our room in the beginning but who knows?  So that is another thing that we have to do.  Switch the master suites.  I am not stressing at all about this because if we don't do it before she gets here that is ok.  It will be easy to do if we decide that is what we want.

So, as you can see, lots of work to be done!  I can't wait to be able to share pictures of the office when it is finished....and then Baby W's room!!!  I can't lie...it feels really good to clean stuff out and get organized.  I'm not sure if I am "nesting" yet, but all I can think about is what needs to be organized next...craft closet, kitchen drawers, nightstands, pantry, etc......

Hope everyone has had a great weekend...It is blazing hot here...100 every day :(

Kelly Belly-25 weeks

First of all, so sorry I have been a little AWOL from blogging this week.  I worked the holiday weekend and have just been busy overall!

Also, this post is 2 days late but I wanted to wait until my dr appt today.

How Far Along: 25 weeks!  That means 15 weeks at the very most until I get to meet my baby girl.  Yea!!

Size of Baby:  she is the size of a rutabaga..what the heck is that?!?

Maternity Clothes I should probably stop answering this question.  But I do have two words for you....maternity...panties!!!!

Weight Gain:  +15 total...I went to the doctor today and I gained 5 pounds this month.  I am totally ok with gaining weight and I will not complain about it because I know that it good for baby girl for me to gain weight.  HOWEVER, it is still hard to see numbers on the scale that you have never seen before.  I think one of the reasons it is hard to see those numbers is because I gained about 10 pounds during all of our fertility treatments.  Sooooo if you include that then you could say that I have gained 25 pounds so far.  WOW...is all I can say about that :)

Stretch Marks:  nothing new...feeling itchy though.

Belly Button:  still getting shallower every day.  It just looks so different!

Sleep:   sleep is ok this week.  I mean it isn't perfect but it is good enough.  I know that I am sleeping better than my husband!

Best Moment of the Week:  more and more comments from random people.  People at work, people at Walgreens, patients.....It is very interesting.  People see that you are pregnant and they tell you all about their kids or grandkids...they are so proud!  I am ok with this but I do not want to hear your horror stories about birth!  Please keep those to yourself!

Getting one more dr appt out of the way!

I purchased a quilt and euro shams for the bed that is going to be in my husband's office.  I promise a post on that soon.  Basically, baby girl's room is my husband's office now.  So, we are moving and decorating his office at the same time as decorating her room!  Lots to do but I am making progress.

We went to Babies.r.us to check out the strollers and car seats.  WOW that is overwhelming!  I think we decided on a Graco travel system but I am still researching.

*little side note....Megan at In This Wonderful Life did a post asking for help deciding on baby stuff.  There were some great comments and some great links so check it out if you want!

Movement she moves all the time!  The greatest feeling ever....

Symptoms:   still having BH contractions.  They come and go.  I will go a few days and only have a few and then I will go a few days where I have a lot.  I have noticed that I have more if I am uncomfortable or if I need to pee really bad.  When I have a few close together I try to lay down on my side and they go away.

My butt hurts!  It feels like my tailbone but when my husband rubs on it he says it is my sacro-iliac joints.  It usually hurts after I have been up or walking around a lot.  It really bothers me after I work all day.

What I Miss: nothing :)

Food Cravings/Aversions:  I feel like I am hungry all the time.  Carbs always sound great!  I still love any fruit and my lemonade.  I am getting back on orange juice.  I loved OJ during my first trimester and that seems to be coming back.

I really seem to want sweets after everything I eat.  I am trying to cut back on that.  Like only have dessert after dinner instead of after every meal!

Gendera precious little princess :)

What I'm Looking Forward to: registering!

Weekly Wisdom: just try to relax...I know I have said this before but I really need to listen to it!

Milestones:  every day is a milestone and I am so happy and thankful to be here.

Also, I feel like being visibly pregnant to strangers is a milestone also!

Here's my belly this week!
And here is a shot from the front!

Also, a post revealing the name for our little princess coming soon.  I am pretty sure we have decided but it is so hard to commit!  We call her this name and I know that is what it is going to be but we haven't started telling people about it yet.  Y'all will be the first to know!

Kelly Belly-24 weeks

How Far Along24 weeks!  This means that baby girl is viable.  If she was born today (please wait until October honey!) there is a chance that she could live with LOTS of medical help, of course!

Size of Baby: length of an ear of corn...EEK!

Maternity Clothes mostly maternity clothes.  I can wear some maxi dresses still that aren't maternity.  Pretty much all maternity shirts but I SERIOUSLY NEED to go shopping for some shorts.  I only have one pair and I wear them all the time....

Weight Gain:  +10 total

Stretch Marks:  nothing new...feeling itchy though.

Belly Button:  RAPIDLY getting shallower.  I can't believe the change in my belly button in the past week.  I am now convinced that it could turn into an outie....

Sleep:   not great.  My hips hurt every night....still peeing multiple times a night as well...
These are our pillows...you wonder how we fit in the bed...

Best Moment of the Week:  I have started getting some random comments from strangers.  A couple of my patients asked me when my due date was or they have asked what I am having.  It is sweet :)

The other morning I was off and my husband came over to kiss me before he went to work.  He also leaned down and kissed my belly and she started kicking him!  It was so sweet.....

Movement moving quite a bit.  She tends to do gymnastics in there after I eat and in the middle of the night.

Symptoms:  still having the BH contractions each day.  I don't like them, have I mentioned that?

still peeing all the time...

still leaking boobies...

my headaches seemed to have gone away :)

My tailbone has started to hurt in the past couple of days...

What I Miss

Anniversary :)

Yesterday was the anniversary of me and my husbands first date!  Like I said on Facebook, it obviously went well ;)

We were actually set up on a date.  I was in ultrasound school and he was finishing up his fellowship in interventional radiology.  It was my first day of clinicals at this new hospital and, after a few hours there, one of the girls who was training me asked me if I was to go on a blind date.  I said a big fat no!  Then she talked a little about him and decided that I could meet him first.  She had him come over to our room under the premise of just chatting with her but it was really for me to check him out.  Little did I know but she had done the same thing to him.  So he was coming to check me out as well!

After I met him I told her that I would go out with him.  Apparently, he said the same thing.  He was cute and he was TALL!!  That was a big plus.  I can't lie....I was a little intimidated because he was a doctor.  I had just turned 23 at the time and he was nine years older than me.  I had never gone out with someone who a) was that much older than me and b) actually had a steady paying job!!!

He called me and we talked on the phone a couple of times and set up a time to go on a date. A few days before we were set to go out I got a call from him.  He asked me if he could take a rain check on our date because his dad died.  I said yes, of course, but I couldn't believe it.  He told me that he would call me later.  I had no clue what to think...all I knew is that I felt so very bad for him.  My husband was very close to his dad and the loss was very hard on him.  Looking back, it is strange that something so terrible happened to him and then something so wonderful (our relationship).

I really didn't expect to hear from him again but I did about two weeks later.  I was pretty nervous for our date so I had a glass or two of wine before he got to my apartment.  This was very early on in my wine drinking and I didn't even have wine glasses!  For our second date he showed up with two wine glasses for me :)

On our first date we went to eat at a restaurant that I really liked.  We talked and talked and talked!  Before we knew it, it had been almost three hours.  So we went to a bar after to have a few drinks and talked some more.  Really the rest is history!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of us over the years!

This was our first Christmas together and we went to stay with my mom.

This was on our first vacation together in Grand Cayman.

This was in Key West and was one of my favorite trips we have taken together.  We had just found out that after three months of him taking hcg injections his sperm count was normal!  They told us we would be able to get pregnant on our own....we were so excited and happy....little did we know it would take two more years!

at a Razorback game...

I love you so much honey!  I know that the next six years are going to be even better than these first six!
