Baby Shower

I had my first baby shower this past Saturday and I was just blown away.  I have AMAZING friends!  This shower was given by five of my closest friends.  They are all girls that I went to high school with.  We have all been friends since like 5th grade.  I know that I am so lucky to have such lifelong friends.  We try to get together about once a month for girls night.  I love them all so much!!!

The did a beach themed shower.  They chose this because I wasn't able to go to the beach with my family in August so they decided to bring the beach to me!  This is what was hanging on the door when I walked up.
How cute is that?  My friend Sarah made that for my hospital door and then it will go on Blakely's door at our house.  I love it!!!

Here are some pictures of the food and decorations.

These were the favors.  You could fill your bag up with all the yummy gummies.  There were lots of sour worms in there...because they are awesome!

This was a parfait bar!  LOVE!

Here is me opening up gifts.  I find that most of these ended up with me having a super weird look on my face...

That is a little Razorback on the booty :)

We got our swing!!

That, my friends, is soft bear.  I got soft bear when I was born and I swear I slept with it until I met my husband and he made me retire him.  My aunt found a newer soft bear online.  AND it is the 30th anniversary edition.  So I had the very first edition and little B has the 30th anniversary one.  HOW COOL IS THAT???
This is Razorback outfit.  I am so excited to put her in this!  Yea for being born during football season!

Me and my mother in law

Me and my friend Katie that is about 13 weeks pregnant...

Me and Keisha.  I think I have mentioned her before.  She has 15 month old Kyndal.  Her water broke at 28 weeks and it was a very stressful time but it all worked out great and Kyndal is just like any other 15 month old..miracle!

Jenny, Courtney, and Keisha

My mom and my mother in law

These are the girls that hosted.  Jenny, Keisha, Sarah, Katie, and Courtney

All of us...

This might be my favorite picture from the shower...I don't even remember what was so funny!

My family.  Grand, Bob (mother in law), Jenni (aunt), mom, and me!

I seriously had such a great time at the shower.  I feel so lucky to have such wonderful friends who would take time out of their super busy lives to do this for us.  We got tons of stuff and I am still organizing it all.  I am determined to have it all washed and put away before my next shower on the 10th.  Hope y'all have a great holiday weekend!

Kelly Belly-33 weeks

How Far Along:  33 weeks!

Size of Baby: she is the size of a pineapple!  She weighs a little over 4 pounds!

Maternity Clothes: of course...

Weight Gain:    +3 pounds in the last two weeks so that is +25 total

Sleep: it is ok...better it seems this week.  Last night I had a stretch where I slept for 3 hours without waking up!

Best Moment of the Week:  my shower on Saturday!  It was so much fun.  I have the best girlfriends EVER!  I am going to do a post just on the shower but here is a little preview pic :)

Movement yes.  She moves quite a bit!  I absolutely love it and I know I am going to miss it so much.

Symptoms The only thing new this week is that some of my BH contractions seem stronger.  Not all of them just every now and then I get one that hurts a little.  I have been using this as an opportunity to practice my breathing.

What I Miss:  nothing at all.  Well, I guess I miss being well groomed.  It is just almost impossible to shave my legs or trim my "girly parts" ;)  I would get a wax but everything is just so sensitive!  I need to figure something out pretty soon!

Food Cravings/Aversions: My mom's friend made some sweet/hot pickles and gave me a huge jar.  THEY ROCK!!!  I can't stop eating them.  We are thinking bout having a pickle party.  Everyone brings the stuff to make the pickles and we chat and drink wine.  Of course no wine for me :)

Gender: princess Blakely who I just love so much!

What I'm Looking Forward to Husband is off this week so we are going to install the car seat bases, put the swing together and organize a few areas of our house.  First up tonight is cleaning out the freezer and refrigerator!

Weekly Wisdom: Please don't tell a pregnant girl her face looks puffy.  I was telling someone THAT ASKED about my finger joint pain and she interrupted me and said oh that's just swelling...I can tell you are swelling because your face is puffy.  Um ok?  Gee thanks!

Milestones:   I had another appointment today and everything is still looking great.  I go back in two weeks and then I will go back weekly.  I can't believe we are getting so close!

We also finished up our childbirth classes last night.  Check that off of the list!

Here is the belly!
sorry for the weird look in this pic!  Not sure what I was doing?!?

Kelly Belly-32 weeks

How Far Along:  32 weeks!  Only 8 more weeks left!!

Size of Baby: she is the size of a large jicama...I'm not sure I know what that is but I am going to look when I go to the store later!

Maternity Clothesof course

Weight Gain:  +22 lbs. total.  I think that I have gained another pound this week but I don't go back to the doctor until next week.

Sleep: same ol' same ol'.  When I am asleep I seem to be sleeping really hard.  I just wake up a lot.  It is getting pretty painful to turn over at night.  I am having a hard time waking up in the mornings...especially this morning because it is storming!

Best Moment of the Week:  I got my hair cut and highlighted!  It has been a really long time and I am so glad I did it.  It takes about 3 1/2 hours to do my hair because I have sooooo much (probably why I don't get it done all the time) but it is totally worth it!

I can tell my husband is getting really excited for her to be here.  Yesterday afternoon when he got off work and while I was getting my hair done he texted me to tell me that he liked her bedskirt that came in yesterday.  He just randomly goes in her room to check it out...isn't that sweet?

We finished our 4th childbirth class, only one more left.  I think when we finish it up I will do a whole post on that experience.

We did a lot of work on my husband's office/man room this weekend and it is really coming along.  There is not much left to do in there and I can't wait to get it finished and show y'all before and after pictures!

I found out in the past two weeks that two of my best friends are pregnant!!!!  One is due in March and the other one is due in April.  When we got pregnant I always told my husband that I wished at least one of my close friends would get pregnant also but I didn't think it would happen.  So this is super exciting news!  Someone in my real life that is going to have a baby close to Blakely's age!!!!

Also, on a random note, my friend A (who just did IVF and got severe OHSS) is pregnant with twins!  She got her drain tube out of her stomach and is feeling tons better....except major morning sickness :(  I am so glad things are working out for her....it was a little scary for a while.

Movement YES!  Baby hiccups are pretty awesome.  She seems to be getting those more and more.

Symptoms I am feeling a little better this week.  I was pretty grumpy last week.  I am still irritable but just not as bad...I think ;)

I am still somewhat nauseated...just like I was at about 8 weeks.  It can be hard sometimes to find something that sounds good to eat.  Thankfully this is not all day...it is either in the morning or at night.

I do have two brand new symptoms to report this week.  The first one I had never even heard of.  About a week ago I started noticing that the joints in my fingers were really sore when I would wake up in the morning.  I didn't think anything of it...just thought maybe I was clenching my fists in my sleep or something.  After a few days it was progressively getting worse.  I mentioned it to my husband and he seemed a little worried.  Little backstory here.  About 3 years ago I started having joint pain and swelling in my ankles.  It got really bad to the point that he would have to carry me to the shower in the mornings.  Then my knees started hurting also.  I went to the doctor and they checked me for all sorts of things but found nothing.  This lasted about 3 months and then started to get better on its own.  They decided it was some sort of virus and that I shouldn't have any more problems.  I was so glad when it went away because I thought I had lupus or rheumatoid arthritis or something!

OK back to my story....so when I told Lonnie about the finger joint thing he said he hoped I wasn't starting to get what I had three years ago.  I hadn't even thought of this and it freaked me out!  I told him to google it right then (I was driving!).  He did and APPARENTLY it is a common pregnancy symptom to get around 30ish weeks.  Something about the DHA and calcium.  Isn't that weird?  I have started getting a little more calcium just to make sure baby girl is getting enough and not stealing all of mine but my fingers still hurt.  They do get a little better during the day.  WEIRD RIGHT???

The other new symptom this week is I had a random nosebleed.  We were sitting here eating dinner and I felt something splash on my lip and hello! it was blood!  Not super cool but the worst part was it seemed like most of it was going down the back of my throat and not out of my nose....which tastes disgusting and makes you want to puke.  Really hope I don't get anymore of those.....

What I Miss:  nothing this week!

Food Cravings/Aversions: just still pretty nauseous and want to eat fruit....breakfast, lunch, and dinner....

Gendera sweet little girl :)

What I'm Looking Forward to my first shower is this weekend and I am so excited!

Weekly Wisdom: fresh out of wisdom this week...

Milestones:   32 weeks!  I feel like the countdown is on.  My husband told me that I need to go ahead and pack our hospital bag...isn't that crazy!  I can't believe we are getting that close.

And my belly pic!
