Yeah...
I put the hashtag #trampstampproblems but really you could insert any of the following hashtags as well.
#EighteenAndStupid
#CollegeGirlProblems
#IGotDrunkOnBealeStreet
Now. To be fair to all of my fellow trampstampers they weren't called that when we were all out in the world getting them. It's not like we were running around telling people we got a tramp stamp. No we were telling them we got a tattoo...and then we showed them and thought we were badass. Because we were.
So. Do I regret it? Ehhh...not really. I mean it is just a design. It's not a symbol that is supposed to mean something but really means something else and it is pretty small. No one ever sees it and even my bathing suits cover it up. It reminds me of a super fun time in Memphis with friends when I was young and had no cares in the world. I'm fine with having it forever.
But I am not really sure how to explain this little stamp to my dear daughter. I am sure people who have visible tattoos know exactly what they would or are going to say to their children. Their tattoos usually mean something. Mine means.....wellll...it means that me and my best friend had a ball on Beale Street! Not really something I want to be telling her anytime soon!
So any of you have a tramp stamp? I know you're out there. Don't make me feel all alone! Do any of you want to get a tattoo? I've thought about getting another one (that actually means something). Let me hear about your tattoos or what you would get if you were to get one right now.
I don't have any tattoos and don't plan on it as of now. D has one on his calf and it's mostly hidden all year, except in summer when you can see it a little on the hem of his shorts. He got one when he turned 18 too and doesn't regret it either. I think we need to see a picture of yours.... :-)
ReplyDeleteLol! I wanted a tattoo on my lower back, but more towards my hip but my Dad told me he would not pay for college if I did it. Once my Mom wanted to get matching tramp stamps, but she didn't know that is what they were called!
ReplyDeleteI would only get a tattoo at this point that means something. So if someone I loved passed or something like that.
I love that B copied you, so adorable!
Hahaha, I love how much alike B and Tay are at times. Both super proud of their mama's tramp stamps. Mine is a shamrock b/c my first and maiden name indicate I'm very Irish (I'm only 50% in reality).
ReplyDeleteAnyway - Taylor calls my shamrock my "leaf sticker on my back". And just like B, she took it upon herself to give herself a tramp stamp.
Joy. We have our hands full!
YUP! I have a big ol tribal butterfly tramp stamp...C found it the other day and now insists on kissing the butterfly. Got it 20 years ago. I wish it was not so big but o'well. I got another two years ago to remind me of the baby we lost. Its high on my upper hip and I love it.
ReplyDeletebtw - this picutre is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI have 4 tattoos and Emily has never said a word about any if them, I wonder if she even notices them! And yes, one if them is a tramp stamp, why did someone have to come up with that name??
ReplyDeleteHaha this is so funny! I have no idea what I would say to explain it.. but I think definitely saying something about it being a thing for adults only (even if we're talking 18 year old adults here! ;) ) I am sure Lids would notice, as she notices if I even wear a new article of clothing. I don't have any tattoos now and doubt I will get one at this point. If I did, I think it would be to do with Lids / future kiddo.
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! I have two tattoos and one of them is a tramp stamp. It's a Celtic tree of life that I love and the other is on my hip/thigh.
