Things I don't want to forget at this very moment

  • The way I know when you are beginning to wake up from your nap.  You sleep on your tummy so when you start bending your leg at the knee and pounding your foot on the mattress I know that I have 15 more minutes to finish whatever I am doing.
  • You still suck on the back of your hand when you are sleepy.  You have done this since...forever.
  • You are starting to show suuuuuuuch a little attitude.  I think it is the cutest thing ever.  I wonder if I will think this in a few years ;)
  • You go over to Gran Di's every Sunday.  You love playing over there...especially on the swing.
  • You get the "scrunchy" face when you don't like something or I won't do what you want me to do.
  • How you hand me the dog food plate every single morning.  I always forget to pick it up the night before so first thing you do when we come upstairs is go get it and hand it to me to put away.
  • How you get down off of the couch.  I taught you how to do this a while back and you used to lay on your tummy and shimmy towards the edge feet first.  Now you are a pro so you just flop over and off and land on your feet every time.
  • How wild eyed you look when you first wake up.
  • You usually wake up in the morning while Daddy is in the shower.  I bring you into bed with me to drink your milk and you always point to the bathroom door and say DA DA!  You know he is in there and want him to come cuddle with us.  He tries to come right out when he hears you.
  • You watch for people to come over out of the dining room window.
  • You always want me when you are crying.
  • How cute it is to watch you climb into your rocking chair.  At first you couldn't bring a toy with you but now you have mastered that.
  • You do everything with your left hand.
  • You try to put your shoes on.  After a few minutes you get frustrated and bring them over to me, plop down in my lap, and wait for me to put them on you.
  • It is nearly impossible to go to the grocery store with you.  You talk to everyone and they can't help but talk back to you.  It takes forever just to make it down one aisle.
  • You love your peeps at Greg's Rise n Dine for breakfast.  We have been taking you there for breakfast on the weekends since you were 3 weeks old.  They just love seeing you and you love playing with them and making them laugh.
  • You love playing in our closet or in the laundry room.
  • You know Daddy is home in the afternoon when you hear the garage door open.
  • You are scared of balloons.  I have no idea why but you always have been.
  • You save your best kisses for me.  Sure, you will kiiiiiss Daddy or kiiiiiss Gran Di but you love giving me kisses over and over and over...and I don't always have to ask :)

  2. Ella was afraid of balloons also, she grew out of it around 15 months or so. Don't you love when your kids love giving you kisses. Wait until she can say "I Love you, Mommy", you'll never be the same.

  3. Great post! :) She is really growing up too fast. I love that she goes to the same restaurant every weekend. What a great tradition!

Taylor learned to say no (it's actually "mo") and shake her head recently. We are getting used to hearing things she doesn't want to do a lot lately. Oy.

And Tay does the shoe thing too! The other day she brought them over to me, plopped on her butt and put her foot in the air. I died...

  4. What a sweet post. I especially love when you said she knows daddy's in the bathroom in the morning. Chloe does the same thing and will go over to the door, start knocking, and screaming "da da" really loud and fast over and over. How cute that she saves her best kisses for you. Lots to love about this post! :)

  5. So sweet, I need to write down my list here soon. I did it a few months back, but they change so quickly, I need to write stuff down so I don't forget. I smiled at a few of things: B getting down from the couch and her picking up the dog dish.

  6. Aww this is such a sweet post of many very special things! :) I love that she knows when her Daddy is in the bathroom... and when he is getting home from work. Alidia seems to be a leftie too!! We'll see how that pans out! How clever with the dog ball!

She really sounds like such a sweet little girl! :)
