Planning

I don't think I have mentioned this but I am smack in the middle of planning our first trip to Dis.ney!

We weren't planning on going until B was 4 but a couple of months ago Lonnie just looked over at me and said let's do it!  I am pretty sure it was when we were watching Sno.w Whi.te and the 7 Dwar.ves for the first time and Blakely was so completely excited.

We are going in March and we already have the reservation for our resort.  But other than that I need help!  I know some of your have been or are planning your trips too.  Help a mom out!  I have a few books and a friend that is Disn.ey obsessed but that is about it.

I plan on making this trip as low key as possible.  I know.  It's Disney and that is impossible. I didn't realize just how hard it is to make a trip there low key.  I mean you have to schedule your character meals 180 days in advance and you still may not get in!  That is cray.  My 180 day window is coming up in the next month or so and I have a few ideas but I need to get with it.  I know we are going to do a princess meal and then a meal with Mickey and friends.  I also think she would enjoy meeting the Disn.ey Jr. characters.

So....all of you Dis vets out there help me out.  Tell me your favorite things, tell me what not to do, tell me where to eat and where not to eat, tell me what you would do again and what you would skip.  Tell me about the parades and which ones I can't miss.  And if you don't want to leave a comment feel free to email all your suggestions!  GO!

  1. Can I tell you how jelly I am of you? We are waiting until 2016 since Alex will be 2.5 but I know Taylor would LOVE going rightthisverysecond. So I know Blakely is going to have the best time ever.

What is good about this for me is that I'm going to come to you for tips and tricks b/c I've heard you need a bachelor of science in Disney Planning to make a good trip. :)

  4. ooh, how fun! I'm assuming you're doing Disney World? We're doing Disneyland in October and I've just been googling disney tips. there are tons of good blog posts out there from others who have gone. this one is helpful http://www.disneytouristblog.com/ but they don't have kids so i take their recommendations and adjust my expectations :)

  6. Can I still pout that we won't be there at the same time? Whatever you decide to do she will love it. We went when Drew was 2.5 and based on that, do NOT miss the parades. You get to see ALL the characters at once! Oh, and this app is a must have: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/my-disney-experience/mobile-apps/

  7. I look forward to hearing what everyone else has to say and what you say after your own trip because we are heading up to Disney in July for my cousin's wedding, along with some general Disney fun and I cannot wait!!! I know Alidia is just going to go wild for all of it. Can't wait to hear how B enjoys it! I am sure she will also love it! :)

You have to bring B to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside Cinderella's Castle (make reservation asap & bring a costume-they are super $$ at the park). Where are you staying? If you are staying within Disney the transportation is wonderful. To & from airport & parks. It's bomb! Do the meal plan too! I liked paying for our trip in advance and we only had to bring spending money for extras. I didn't want to worry about buying all the meals on top of it Meal plan is awesome (in my opinion). I am sooooooooooo excited for you guys!!! I wanna go too!!!!!
