Halloween!

We had a great Halloween.  This was actually the first year Blakely went trick or treating.  Usually we have just gone to Lonnie's office, my Dad's office and then my grandmother's house.  But since it was on a Saturday the offices were out.  My friend Tina had a little party outside at her house and the kids trick or treated in her neighborhood.  It went so well we are going to make a tradition out of it!

Anyway, at first Blakely told me she wanted to be a princess.  Then she changed her mind to Batgirl.  She makes a pretty darn cute Batgirl if you ask me!

The twins were Biggie and Tupac!  I started calling Emery Tupac a long time ago because her knot headbands reminded me of how he would wear the bandana on his head.  Then one day when Benton finally started getting chubby I called him Biggie after calling her Tupac and it hit me that would be the perfect Halloween costume for them!  They are super cute little gangsta rappers :)

Halloween fun

Blakely had a great Halloween this year!  She got to have 3 parties so three chances to dress up.  But, who am I kidding, every day is a day of dress up around here.  But this time she got to wear it out in public and everyone else was dressed up too.  Fun times.

I had been looking for shoes for her birthday outfit and finally found these cowboy boots that weren't too tall for her skirt.  So it hit me that she should wear them on Halloween too.  The cowgirl outfit was born.

We all went to a party last Saturday and she had a great time.  There were a lot of bigger kids there and they fascinate her.  I took all of these pictures then because I just couldn't seem to get the real camera out the other two times she dressed up.  Maybe because we were running major late and I didn't have time.  Maybe.

Then Tuesday at her dance class they all dressed up and had a fun little party.  She loves dance class.  I know she loves the actual dancing but I think she loves playing with all her new friends even more.  Trying to get a picture of 8 little girls it pretty comical.

Then on actual Halloween we did a little trick or treating.  We did the same thing we have done the last 2 years: Lonnie's office, my dad's dealership and then my grandmother's house.  I think we can get away with just that for a few more years before delving into the whole neighborhood trick or treat action.

By the way, I walked in on this about 30 minutes before we had to leave to go trick or treating....  Hand soap...

All the girls at Lonnie's office love when I bring Blakely in there and this time was no different.  She wasn't as shy this time so that was good too.  I'm sure it had to do with the fact that they were giving her treats!  When we left there she told me, "Mommy, they are all so sweet".  :)  After that we were going to head to my Dad's dealership but we had a little bit before the costume contest started there so we ran by the hospital to see Daddy.  She had been a bit disappointed when he wasn't at his office so this made her happy.

Then we headed to the dealership.  My Dad always loves showing B off, of course.  She had a fun time playing with a few of the other kids and getting more candy.  I was wearing down at this point (zero stamina, I know) so I thought it was time to head to my Grand's house.  My mom and aunts were going to be there and there was pizza...yes.  They had some fun things for Blakely (not just candy, yay!) and all she wanted to do was dig into her loot.  And I may have eaten a few starbursts as well.  We stayed there for a bout an hour before heading home.  I think Blakely's favorite thing of the night was playing with my cousin's 2 new kittens.  She didn't want to leave them and keeps asking to bring them home.  Not happening.

All in all it was a good Halloween.  The best part for me was eating her candy.  I swear the only thing that makes me not pukey is sweets.  Ugh!  So I have been having a treat here or there just to try and keep stuff down.  Yuck.  Anyway, fun holiday and now I am ready for some Christmas planning!

I'm still here...

...but barely!  After a whirlwind couple of weeks I am hoping to catch up on life now.

Things have just been cray.  Blakely was sick for a good 2 weeks.  Then Lonnie was out of town.  And then...

The pregnancy sickness hit me.  And wow.  I was not sick with Blakely so this is a whole new world for me.  I do okay for a few hours in the morning but then the nausea sets in for the rest of the day.  I am also STARVING OMG GET ME SOME FOOD NOW so that is cool.  Yesterday was a good day but I've already thrown up twice today.  Really hoping this passes quickly.

We took a quick peek at the babes the other day and they are both growing right along.  I think at that ultrasound I started feeling like okay this is actually happening.  I have another official ultrasound tomorrow with labs and if all looks good I can start weaning off my medications.  Which I am very happy about because my ass is one giant and painful bruise from the daily progesterone shots.

We went to a Halloween party at a friends house for all the kids on Saturday.  It was really fun and the kids were all so cute.  I love watching Blakely want to play with the big girls.  She just follows them around trying to do everything that they do.  She even went into the "spooky room" with them which surprised me.  I struggled through the entire thing.  I had scoped out a distant bathroom early on just in case I needed to make a run for it.  I almost did because of all the food smells.  But it was fun anyway.  :)

Then on Sunday we FINALLY had Blakely's birthday party.  She loved it and keeps saying she wants to do it again.  Ha!  Honestly, I am so glad the thing is over.  It just felt like the longest lead up to a party ever.  Since we had to postpone it for 2 weeks I had all the decor already set up so I was ready to get the show on the road.  We had a good turnout and it is always great having my family and friends together.  Lonnie hates having parties but then once we have them he says he is so glad that we did.  So yeah...we will continue.

Blakely is having a Halloween party at school today and then another one at dance tonight.  Let me tell you, once Halloween is over she is not getting any more candy for a long time.  I had a piñata at the party so we have had a few bags full of candy in this house for 2 weeks and she knew it.  She snuck some, Lonnie snuck her some and I have bribed her with some. So we are all guilty but I am putting a stop to it!  The good thing is that she wants to brush her teeth about 4 times a day!  (Maybe Lonnie and I need to stop eating candy too!)

Speaking of brushing teeth...  She has always been really good at letting me do it but the last few weeks she has been putting up a major fight.  Ugh.  Well the other day we were waiting at the doctor's office for her flu shot when she asked me for a sucker.  I said no.  She begged and finally I got frustrated and told her that if she eats candy and doesn't brush her teeth then her teeth will turn brown and then fall out.  Her head jerked up and she looked at me with huge eyes.  Then they started filling with tears.  The child started hard core crying and pulling on me to leave saying through her sobs, "Let's go home right now and brush my teeth!  I don't want to have brown teeth!".  I couldn't believe it.  I felt terrible but it did get through to her.  So now she brushed them multiple times a day!

That's all I've got for today.  Hoping to get the birthday party post and her three year post up this week but we will see.  No pressure ;)

Halloween from Blakely

Hi!  It's Blakely and I stole Mommy's computer so I could tell you what a great day I had with Mommy yesterday.  First thing was that she let me get really really messy.  We carved a pumpkin!
You're going to let me do what??

Is this a trick?

Then I got a bath in the middle of the afternoon.  I told you I got really messy!  After bath Mommy made me an awesome lunch.  I mean just look at it...who doesn't want to eat all of that?

Then we got to play with a bunch of stickers.  I've never played with these before but Mommy is so smart because she knew that I would LOVE them.  She said it was my very first "crafting afternoon".  We made a fun diaper....

Then we decorated my trick or treat bucket.  I put most of those stickers on....Mommy just finished it off when I would get distracted.

Then we made cute little pumpkins to give away to family!  This was my favorite craft.  Mommy kept telling me where to put the stickers but I'm not sure why.  I knew what I was doing.

I knew it was a special day already BUT it got even more special.  Mommy let me drink my milk upstairs while watching a show on the TV before my nap.  She never lets me do this so I was veeeeeeery excited.  I sat really still and drank every drop of my milk so I could finish watching the whole show.  I hope she lets me do that more!

After a long nap we got ready and went to see Daddy at work.  Everyone was so excited to see me.  At first it made me a little nervous because they were all staring at me but then I remembered that I LOVE attention so I started making them laugh.  Plus, my peacock costume was super cute.  They loved me :)

Daddy had one more patient to see before he could come with us so we took a little break in the car and ate some cheerios...  Thank, Mom

Then we went to see Pops and Uncle Matty at work!  I had a fun time there just running all over the showroom.  Everyone kept trying to take my picture but I'm just too fast.

Mommy tried to hide her keys in my bucket but I found them!  Can't fool me...

Then we went over to Grands house to see all of my peeps.  I got to see Grand, T, Richard, Jenni, and even GRAN DI!!!  They got me toys for my bucket which is so much better than that other stuff that Mommy won't let me have.

Don't you think it was an awesome day?  I can't wait until next Halloween!

Ohhhhh and here I am compared to last year!!!  I've sure grown!

Halloween and a few other things...

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that commented on my previous post.  It really makes me feel great to have so much love and support from the blogging community.  None of my friends in real life are new mommies and there are very few that are mommies at all.  Thank you for making me feel normal!!!  I have tried all of the advice and we are doing better.  Also, a very special thank you to Mrs. Hammer for the great website.  I have been doing the laid back breastfeeding and Blakely seems to be doing much better with that.  Mommy is doing better also.  For the past two days I have started to feel more like myself.  I am not in as much pain and I guess I am adjusting to the sleep deprivation :)

Also, I am so happy that I started this blog!  I debated for months and months over this decision.  I didn't think my husband would want me to put all of our stuff out there on the internets :)  When I asked him about it he told me to go for it!  He tells me all the time to be totally honest on the blog and not to "sugarcoat" anything.  Best...decision...ever!  My blog is not anonymous (obviously) but not many people in my real life know about it.  My husband, my mom, my mother in law, and Jenni (my aunt).  That is it.  And I think the only people that read it on a regular basis are my husband and my mom.  I think I might be ready to tell my friends and family about it.  I'm still not sure.  I really like my blogging and I feel very comfortable with it the way it is.  I am afraid that if more people knew about it then it would change it somehow...like maybe I would be scared to hurt feelings?  Or scared to be as honest?  I'm not sure....

Also, my blog is totally changing.  I mean it started off as a blog to help me cope with infertility.  Then soon after I started it I got pregnant.  It then became a pregnancy blog.  Well now it is basically a new mommy blog.  I mean I'm sure that I will have some posts that aren't about being a mom but, ya know, that is what is going on in my life right now.  I understand that this blog may be hard to read for some people that began following when it was an infertility blog.  I know that it was hard for me to read pregnancy or mommy blogs.  I really understand.  I don't want to start a new blog...I just want this one to change with me as I grow.  I hope to keep all my readers out there.  I still follow all of your journeys and hope and pray for BFP's for everyone.  I love y'all!!!

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!  We, of course, did not do anything this year except snuggle with our girl.  Mommy did dress her up though and she liked it about half of the time.  I had four different outfits for her to wear...and it was really hard to stop at four :)  I look forward to next year dressing her up and going trick or treating!

Here she is in outfit #1.  I didn't buy this one it was given to us as a gift.  That is just a disclaimer for my husband!  If you are new to my blog or have missed it in previous posts...my husband is a radiologist so this outfit is very fitting :)

This is outfit #2.  It lasted about 20 minutes and then she spit up all over it.....

This is outfit #3.  It was mommy's first attempt at a tutu.  It turned out pretty good I thought!

 she looks so long!

See my phone?  It is playing Janis Joplin...if you turn it off...see next picture!

Yeah....screaming Blakely :(  Doesn't it just break your heart....

And then this is her actual Halloween costume.  She really liked this one!

 RAWR!!!!!

I just love her sweet face...seriously....
