little monkey

Y'all.  My girl is such a climber.  She will not be denied.  If she wants something or gets the idea in her head that she wants on top of something then she is going to get there.  Determined.  She has always been somewhat of a climber but I think gymnastics has pushed this along a little bit.

2 weeks ago at gymnastics she learned that she can hang on the bar or rings and hold herself up there.  Until that point she would grab it but I had to hold her on there.  WELL.  Since she figured out how to do that she hangs on everything at the house.  The highchair....It is a matter of time before she either breaks it or it falls over on top of her.  She does it on the kitchen table.  Most recently she has started hanging off of our sofa table.  Yikes.

She can almost do a forward roll by herself but she is not quite there.  So basically she puts her head down and tries to kick over and it looks like she may break her neck!  She does this all the time but recently started trying to forward roll OFF OF THINGS.  Her chair...the ottoman....  Oy...

There is a foam pit at gymnastics and a rock wall you climb to get out.  Oh the rock wall.  This is what taught her to really climb.  Now she can get onto any chair in our house...even the bar height ones!  She can climb into, or out of, the tub.  And obviously she can climb into the water table.

Gymnastics also showed her the love of jumping.  She is currently trying to master jumping off things and landing on her feet.  She does this off of her little pink chair so it doesn't scare me that much because it is on carpet and it isn't that high off the ground.  But soon she will move on to higher things to jump off of.

I am preparing myself for her to climb out of her crib very soon.  I know that she can physically do it right now, especially with her long legs.  She just hasn't tried to yet because she usually goes right to sleep.  If she doesn't then she sits there and talks to Minn.ie or Dotty.  The other day I went shopping and Lonnie sent me a text saying she was swinging from the ledge of her crib.  As soon as she hikes that leg up to the top rail of the crib...she will be out.  Oh me.  What the heck do I do then?!?  I should probably go ahead and put a bunch of pillows on the ground outside of her crib just in case.

I can't take my eyes off of this girl for a second.  She will be climbing the trees in the yard before I even know it!

it's just another photo dump post

I feel like I have done quite a few catch up posts lately.  Also known as "photo dumping pictures of my child" posts.  But, I can't help it.  I have a few "meaningful" posts in my drafts but I haven't been able to find the time to finish them up.  So here is a catch up before I bombard you with all of the fun Easter crafts I have planned for this week!

I had a birthday and I spent it with my two favorite people!

Blakely started gymnastics!  OMG what fun that is.  She loves jumping on the trampoline and walking on the balance beam.  She isn't really into the "warming up"...she just wants to run around like a crazy person.  Cutest thing ever.  Know what isn't so cute?  Trying to leave gymnastics....talk about flop down freak outs....

I took B to the park last week because the weather was nice.  I didn't realize it was spring break.  Shoot me.  We had to stay though because she was enthralled with all of the people there.  Blakely had a great time.  She wouldn't let me or any of the other kids help her.  She was Miss Independent.  She probably went down the slide 50 times.  Such a big girl!  In other park news, I nearly throat punched a little boy for running over Blakely 50 times, trying to push her down, AND spitting on the slide so no one could go down.  All in front of his mother who was busy on her phone (in her defense she was 17...maximum).  Because of this boy I slammed my shin into a metal rod while running to make sure he didn't push her off the steps.  I would show you the hideous black and purple bruise that covers my entire lower leg but my legs haven't been shaved in three days.  No, I lied, three months.  Anyway, she had fun!

Look at all those people MOM!

We recently accomplished our first big girl ponytail.

I mentioned in B's 17 month post that she is obsessed with shoes.  This is how she came walking out of my closet the other day....

I went to an all day bachelorette party this past Saturday.  I learned one thing during this party.  I AM OLD!  Seriously.  It is sad.  We got pedicures, had lunch and then went to the race track all day.  After the races were over we went to dinner and then out for drinks.  I was ready for bed before dinner.  Oh how my 25 year old self would laugh!  It was a great time with friends, although, I am still recovering.

Terrible picture but that is what you get in a dark and smoky bar....

That is all the catch up I have.  B is waking up from her nap wayyyyy too early.  Happy Monday!
