Razorback Weekend

We took Blakely to her first Razorback game this past weekend.  Lonnie and I haven't been in a few years and we have always looked forward to taking Blakely.  The only way this happened was that Brenda (who helps me around the house and with the babies 2 days a week) came up to babysit the twins while we took Blakely to the game.

My Dad has a condo there (and season tickets) so it all worked out perfectly!  Fayetteville is about 3 hours away from us so we packed up and headed that way when Lonnie got off work Friday.  The drive was not fun at all.  For some reason Emery decided to absolutely hate the car seat so I had to sit on the floor beside her for most of the ride.  Blech.

But once we got to the condo it was great.  There are about 8 food trucks across the parking lot from the condo so Lonnie and I picked up dinner there and headed to bed pretty early.

The game was at 11 the next day.  We got dressed and I even dressed the babes in their gear and Brenda took a pic of all of us.  I know this made my Dad so very happy.  All of his grandkids together in Fayetteville and taking his first grand baby to her first game.  So fun!

We got to the stadium early and walked around, chatted with people and then headed in side early.  Or they headed inside early and I went to the car to pump.

Her favorite part was calling the Hogs!

The game was AMAZING.  Our Hogs have been known to let us down but they played great and the game went into FOUR OVERTIMES.  Blakely did great even though she was definitely over being in one place for so long.  She ate the entire time we were there.  We ended up pulling out the victory and it was super fun.  So loud and everyone jumping around and freaking after the game.  I basically sprinted to the car to pump again.

She's not asleep but just didn't want her picture taken.

When we got back to the condo the babies were getting sleepy.  We let Brenda go and Lonnie and I strapped the Benton and Emery into the stroller and took off to walk around campus.  Blakely was excited to see "Daddy's college".  The babies napped for the hour and a half while we walked around.  We showed her Lonnie's fraternity house and he took her inside.  I wasn't about to stroll 2 infants in there!  We took her picture in front of Old Main....just in case she decided to go to school there one day I thought it would be a neat picture to have. We showed her Lonnie's name in the sidewalk and she thought that was pretty cool.

I had to take a picture of him by the Kap.pa S.ig house (even though you can't really see the house for the trees...we didn't want to walk back!  But those cars are the parking lot for members) with all his babies.  Crazy how things change!

When we got back to the condo Blakely was worn out.  She passed out on the couch and we put the babes to bed early and enjoyed a bottle of wine.  It was a great way to spend the weekend and I can't wait to do it again!

wrapping up the week

Busy week around here.

Lonnie was on call all weekend but it wasn't a terrible one.  They are never "good" but as long as he doesn't have to go back in multiple times I count it as a win.  We had one of his friends come over on Saturday afternoon to help us move a few larger items in the house and to bring stuff down from the attic.  I pretty much won't let Lonnie lift a thing but it is hard for him not to help.  Man thing I guess.

He moved the TV's out of the armoire's we are selling and took a couple of large things up to the attic.  The conversion kit for the cribs, the extra leaves for my dining room table, stuff like that.  We had about 5 large bags of baby items he brought down from the attic.  Some of it is to sell and some I need to find a place for in the new baby room.

Blakely was ready to call the Hogs that day.  We lost but we did play the number 1 team.

That's right.  I actually have a baby room now!  On Sunday, my friend Jenny had her two friends come pick up the king bedroom set she bought from me.  I did not know this guy that was going to move her stuff but I sent him a message on FB earlier in the week to ask him if was interested in moving some stuff around for me and he said yes.  So he moved her furniture out and then moved the baby furniture from Blakely's room into the baby room.  He also moved a few other items up to the garage for the sale we are going to have as soon as winter gets the hell out.  And then I made them move the treadmill.  What a ginorm pain that was.  I actually felt bad because I knew he was wishing he hadn't said yes!

Lonnie was able to be here while they were here and seriously so thankful for that.  I can't walk up and down our stairs 20 times so he was able to direct them and do that.  Also, Jenny brought her mom and Sarah came over to help also.  It had been raining all morning so I wasn't sure they were going to show up so I didn't take the bedding of the beds.  (They had to move the downstairs mattress upstairs and then the upstairs mattress to the garage).  Well all the sudden they were here so Sarah helped me undress the beds and wash the sheets.  Then Jenny, Virg and Sarah proceeded to do all the things.  They wouldn't let me get up at all.  They vacuumed once the furniture was moved and told them exactly where I wanted things to go.  And they also brought me cookies.  Totally the best.

After all that moving we were all exhausted.  Lonnie has gotten into the habit of using me as a pillow on the couch.  Usually he has the couch to himself but since being pregnant I have invaded his space.  So this is the compromise.  I'm okay with it.  :)

It is so nice to have Blakely's room mostly cleaned out.  All that is left in there is the queen bed that she sleeps on but will be moved to the baby room once her furniture comes in.  And her nightstands that I need to paint to match the babies room.  And a few toys on the floor that I wanted out of the living room.  The babies room just needs another crib (more on that later) and the bed moved in.  Ahhh.  It feels so good.

On Monday I had the carpets cleaned in both of those rooms.  Then Tuesday Jennifer (organizer) came over so we could start on the babies closet organization.  So my super cleaned out nursery was turned into a war zone while we completely emptied out the closet. Their closet is really huge.  Part of it is going to have to be for storage of boxes that are not theirs.  But I am only willing to give up a certain amount of space in there and it has to be up on the top shelf.  So we are working on that.  I spent all day Monday going through Blakely's baby clothes.  I thought I had been good about getting rid of stuff as she outgrew it buuuuuut no.  There were like 5 tubs of newborn to 18 month stuff.  So I went back through it because if I kept it all then baby brother would have no space in the closet.  We organized the cloth diapers, baby blankets, toys, etc.  There is just so much.  We aren't done yet but will be next week.

Wednesday I went and got my hair cut and highlighted for the first time in 8 months.  I HATE going this long but I just haven't made an appointment.  I was supposed to go when I was about 5 weeks pregnant but had to cancel last minute for a lab appointment in Little Rock.  I am really feeling like chopping it all off but I know I will never do it.  Ha!  My next appointment is when I will be like 36 weeks pregnant.  I told her I don't think I will be able to sit there for 3 hours then.  It was tough this time!

Yesterday was ANOTHER snow day.  It was pretty but, like usual, we couldn't leave the house.  Blakely went out to play the minute she got upstairs and saw all the snow.  She played for maybe an hour and then I made breakfast.  This child is having a growth spurt or something because she is eating SO MUCH.  She ate 3 big pancakes, 3 slices of bacon, a banana and half a carton of blueberries.  The rest of the day we just played and cleaned the house a bit.

Then last night she threw up all night long.  Seriously.  What is up with that?  She did the same thing about 2 weeks ago.  Today she seems a little sickly and her fever is 99.8 but no puking since about 5 this morning.  I had big plans to take her to my aunt's house so I could gather all of our tax stuff up for the accountant.  I don't think that is going to happen.  So I guess we will hang out on the couch and watch movies.  I am not complaining about that but I really need to get some stuff done.  Buuuut I've had about 2 hours of sleep so I am thinking couch sounds pretty good.

Today is Lonnie's last day of work for a week and we have a lot planned while he is off.  I am ready for him to be home and it isn't even 8:00.  At least we aren't supposed to get more snow.  It is March after all!  Happy weekend!   I am going to scrub puke out of sheets, pillow and peeps.  Wish me luck!

It's been feelin' like the weekend.

Lonnie was off last weekend and then, randomly, was off Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well.  We've been busy having lots of fun so my days are all mixed up and I've thought it was the weekend all week long.  Now it is Friday so I am just plain confused.  Ha!

To start, I'll let y'all know that our other 4 embryos did not make it.  We were pretty sad about this when we found out on Tuesday we but chose not to dwell on it since we DO have 3 frozen embryos.  Now we just wait for the genetic testing on those.  That should take about 2-3 weeks and then the chromosomally normal ones will be available for transfer.  I have already started the protocol to build up my uterine lining to prep for a frozen transfer.  I just have a good feeling that these embryos are fighters and this is all going to work out!

Last Saturday we went to a birthday pool party for my friend Keisha's daughter, Kyndal.  I couldn't get in the water due to my recent surgery so it was a little stressful to say the least.  No way was I letting Blakely get in by herself.  There were like 30 kids all running around and swimming so I was constantly making sure she was not close to the edge, someone taking her in, etc.  Not to mention it was HOT.  By the time it was over I was worn out.  She and I both came home and took a three hour nap!
When we woke up we took our first boat ride of the season.  Blakely was as fan.  She is immediately hungry the second we step foot on the boat.  I always pack like 4 snacks for her.

Lonnie worked Monday but we met him after work to get some ice cream.  Blakely slept in panties overnight with no accidents so that was cause for major celebration!

Then he was off again so Tuesday afternoon we picked B up from MDO and drove the hour to my MIL's house.  She has a pool and we were wanting some fun in the sun.  Blakely was a little timid at first but once she got used to it she was jumping in (with us catching her) and "practicing" her swimming.  My niece and nephew were there so Blakely was constantly entertained.  We spent the night and swam more the next day.

We drove home Wednesday late afternoon because Lonnie and I had a softball game that night.  Y'all.  We have so much fun.  I get really nervous at the beginning of the game (hello, it has been a good 15 years since I have played) but then once the game gets going it all comes back to me.  Of course I am still sore!

Yesterday our friends came to pick us up on their boat and we took a ride for a few hours.  Then we stopped at a pizza place on the lake and had lunch.  Their boys are 18 months and 4 years old so Blakely had loads of fun playing with them.  She conked out on the boat on the ride back home.  The boat is like a magic toddler sleeping machine.  Then when we got back home she told me she was still sleepy so I put her in her bed.  She slept for another hour.  This is completely unheard of.  Usually if she falls asleep for even 5 minutes in the car then there will be no napping after that.

Lonnie is back at work today but then he is off for the weekend.  We are having a little sprinkle for my friend Tina and her total surprise third baby tomorrow morning.  After that I think we are going to head over to my grandfather's house and play in his pool.  It should be another fun summer weekend!  I hope you all get to enjoy being outside this weekend too!

Weekend fun. And not so fun.

I intended on posting this on Monday but right after our super great weekend everything went to shit.  More on that later!

We had a super full weekend so I'll just start with Friday.  Blakely had gymnastics and then we went to my dad's house after that.  We have started getting into that routine the past month or so.  Sometimes I stay over there with them and other times I run a few errands while they hang out for an hour or two.  This Friday I had a doctor's appointment so I left her there to run around outside, play with Shady (the only dog in the world that she is not scared of) and play on the boat.

I picked her up and we drove the long way through the country home.  She loves this because we drive by a few farms and she can see the COWS!  SHEEP!  HORSIES!  One of these days I am just going to walk up to one of their doors and ask if she can get a close up look.  She took a late nap because we were heading to the local high school baseball game that evening.

My girlfriends and I were having a girls night starting at the game.  We have a friend whose son is the star of the team so we went to watch him.  I knew Blakely would think that was fun!  And she did.  I think she entertained everyone around us the whole game.  Lonnie came after work to watch a little of the game and to take B home.

My girl will finally smile a good smile for a selfie instead of that cheese ball grin!

After the game we headed over to Jenny's and the girls who couldn't make the game came over then.  We ordered pizza, played games and talked for hours.  It was so much fun!  I had really good intentions of getting home at a decent hour.  But at midnight my pregnant friend, Tina, was still going strong so I felt I had to at least outlast her.  I made it home at 2 in the morning.  Whoa.  We had such a great time and I truly believe a girls night is good for the soul.  Blakely didn't get the memo about sleeping in so I was running on about 4 hours of sleep Saturday.

Lonnie was on call but it was looking like his weekend wouldn't be too busy.  We decided to head out to our local horse racing track for a fun event they were having in the infield.  They had a huge BBQ competition and you could purchase a plate for $5 and sample all the food.  Ummm, yes.  Sign me up.  A huge open area for B to run around + food + live music + some bounce houses = a super happy toddler.  She ate more BBQ than Lonnie and I did.  We got there a little early before there were too many people there.  Definitely planned it that way.  Here are a few pics because I actually took my good camera.  Go me.

come on, Mom!

Taking a little break from jumping.

We finally got her to sit down under the shade of a huge tree.

The child ate 2 plates full!

Be happy I only posted 3 of them sitting like this.  I have about 50...

Adoration...

On the way home from the racetrack I felt like it was the perfect time for an ice cream date.  We have only gone for ice cream about 5 times ever.  The first 4 she didn't even know there were toppings for the ice cream.  I planned on keeping it that way but the last time we went Lonnie picked her up and showed them to her before I could catch him.  If I could show you the look on her face.  The child was so excited.  So, of course, this time she wanted to pick her toppings.  She decided on orange ice cream with gummy bears, chocolate chips and M&M's.  Yum.  Not.  I usually share hers but that sounded gross so I got my own.  She ate every single bite.  We were there for an hour.  She is not the fastest eater.

By the time she was done she was in serious need of a bath.  Sweat mixed with sunscreen mixed with BBQ sauce mixed with orange ice cream made for a dirty little two year old.

I soaked her and scrubbed her and then we settled in for a movie night.  Her favorite.  Toy S.tory.  About half way through I could tell Lonnie wasn't feeling well.  He mentioned earlier in the day that his muscles were hurting but I didn't really know what to make of that.  I thought he just slept weird or something.  Anyway, when it was time to put Blakely to bed he calmly told me to call my mom and and have her come over while Blakely was sleeping so I could take him to get checked out by the ER doctor.  Ummmm...excuse me?!?!?  My husband who refused to even get a physical for like 6 years wanted to voluntarily go to the ER on a Saturday night?  Yeah, so our weekend went to shit right there.  I'll post all about it tomorrow or Friday.  He is okay but still pretty ill.  Blah.

outdoor weekend

We had such a great weekend.  The weather took a big turn towards fall and so we decided to get out and enjoy it.

On Friday it rained all day long.  Not a storm but just that lazy all day light rain with no thunder or lightening.  You know, the perfect napping weather.  When we all woke up from those wonderful naps we decided to take a little walk in the rain.  I got this adorable rain coat with matching rain boots from Zu.lily a few months ago.  You've probably seen the rain boots in a few of my pictures because B loves to wear them in the house.  I told her we could finally wear them outside because it was actually raining.  She got so excited.  Then I asked her if I could take her picture.  This is the pose I got...

She's pretty cute if you ask me!  Anyway, we walked around the neighborhood picking up acorns and stomping in puddles.  She thought it was super fun but her favorite part was swinging in the rain, as you can tell from the picture.  It took me a loooong time to get her to come inside.

When Blakely went to bed Friday night Lonnie and I started talking about going camping.  We talked about weekends he was off and tried to plan.  Well finally we said lets just go tomorrow!  So we did!

It was a totally a last minute decision.  When B woke up the Saturday morning I packed up all the things we would need for an overnight stay.  We gave her an early nap and then left to find the perfect spot to camp.

We live on a lake but there are a few other lakes near us.  Lake Oua.chita is very close to us (like a 15 minute drive).  It is much bigger than the lake that we live on and no homes are allowed to be built near this lake.  Because of this, it is an extremely clean lake and just a gorgeous piece of nature.  There are many islands and Lonnie and I have camped on an island with our boat before.  We've never taken B camping because we weren't sure how she would do.  I mean a baby/toddler sleeping in a tent?  Sounded like a recipe for disaster to me.

But Saturday was the most beautiful day.  Sunny and 75.  We wanted to get out there and have wide open spaces for her to run around and just enjoy being outside.  So we did and it could not have been a better idea.  I was proud of Lonnie and I for doing something so last minute.  Since having Blakely we have become such planners.  Everything is always completely planned out and we never just do something on a whim.  But this?  This was definitely on a whim.

On our drive into the campsite Blakely spotted a playground so we stopped there so she could play for a little while.

Then we picked out a PERFECT spot, unloaded the car and set up our tent.

We walked around the lake and just let her explore her surroundings.  We picked up rocks and threw them in the water.  She liked it best when Lonnie picked her up (he isn't supposed to but try telling him that) so she could throw it from up high and make a bigger splash.  She also like "washing" her hands in the water.  Ignore the plumber's crack in the picture.  These pants are from last year and they still fall off with panties on...

Then we gathered a bunch of sticks and helped daddy build a fire.  I think this was her favorite part!

Once the fire was going we roasted hot dogs and then marshmallows.
By the time it was dark our girl was super sleepy.  I took her in the tent and laid down with her (and Min.nie, of course) until she fell asleep.  It took all of 10 minutes.  Then Lonnie and I stayed up and chatted by the fire for a few hours.

Y'all.  It was so nice.  Just being outside all day with my loves enjoying nature.  I could not have asked for a better weekend!  And because I just can't help myself I have to post this picture.  You know you're the mommy of a toddler when.....

HAPPY MONDAY!

Spending the night at GranDi's

Last weekend Blakely got to stay the night with my mom {GranDi}.  Since we were supposed to be out of town and she was going to watch B anyway we just went ahead and sent her over there.  That way Lonnie could rest and I could sleep in.  HOORAY!

They had a ball, of course.  We took her over there late Saturday afternoon and told her she was going to go night night with GranDi.  She didn't even bat an eye.  She spends a lot of time over there anyway so I wasn't worried about her sleeping or going to bed or anything.

On Sunday morning she woke up bright and early at 645 and immediately asked to swing.  So that is exactly what they did in their pajamas.

After a while they went back inside and had breakfast.  My mom gave her oatmeal.  B loves oatmeal but she also loves to spread it in her hair.  I guess I should have warned GranDi about this.

After breakfast they went back outside for a long time.  It was a beautiful morning.  (I wouldn't know because I was asleep!)  They went on wagon rides and Blakely had long talks with Baby Doll.  (Sit baby doll!  Hi baby doll!  Kiss baby doll!)

They played in the sand box and she poured sand in her hair.  No big deal.

I finally woke up at 11.  I know.  Amazing.  I did wake up at 7 and it took me a while to go back to sleep but, really, eleven!  I texted my mom to check on them and she said they had been up since the crack of dawn and had been outside playing since.

I am so thankful that B and my mom have such a great relationship.  I know that my mom loves this baby just as much as I do and would do anything to see her happy.  My mom just lights up when she sees B and B does the same.  They are total buddies.  Later Sunday evening after I brought B home, my mom and I were texting.  This is one of the texts that she sent to me.

I am thinking this spending the night with GranDi thing needs to happen again soon.  B agrees.  She's been saying night night GranDi all week long!

Happy Weekend!!
