Blake on the lake 3

We had a beautiful weekend here this past weekend.  This is one of the best "springs" that we have had in many years.  Here in Arkansas it goes from cold to hot balls in like 2 weeks.  This year, however, spring is still holding strong and I could not be happier about it.  (Minus the caterpillars...can't they just turn into butterflies already?)

Unfortunately, Lonnie was on call this weekend and it was a bad one.  He was super busy and we didn't get to see much of him.  This made me very sad because I was determined to take our boat out for the first time this season.  But when he finally made it home late Sunday afternoon he was just too exhausted.  No boat ride.  Sads.

The good news is that yesterday was just as beautiful.  He called me during his lunch and mentioned taking a ride when he got home.  YES!  PLEASE!

We still have the life jacket we used for B last year.  It is for kids under 30 pounds.  I bought her one of those puddle jumpers the other day.  It says they need to be over 30 pounds ( she is 24) but I thought I would see if it would work just for the pool and casual boat rides on non-busy lake days.

It was super cute but WAY too big for her.  She could easily get her arms out.  Oh well..maybe next year!

My little boat girl did so good in her life jacket.  I was worried because she was not a fan last year.  I think now that she can move around more it isn't as uncomfortable for her.  Let's just say that she LOVED the boat ride.

When we sit on the deck at our house she always waves to boats as they pass and then says bye bye.  They can't see her on our deck though.  But when we are on the boat the other boaters waved back to her and she just thought that was the coolest.

We cruised around for a while and then stopped and ate our dinner that I packed.

My loves just relaxing.

She wasn't really interested in pictures with mommy.  She just wanted to look around at everything.  BOATS!  GEESE!  BIRDS!  TREES!

Daddy started teaching her how to drive on the way home.

She did not want to go back up to the house when we got home.  She would take a few steps, turn around and say BOAT!

We got back right at B's bed time so we immediately put on jammers and drank our milk.  Outside.  Because it was that kind of day.

It was an evening for the record books.  I loved every second of it.  I grew up on this lake and I remember my dad teaching me how to drive the boat.  He would say "Just aim for that dock WAY over there!"  HA!  There are many pictures of me as a kid asleep on the boat and most of my childhood memories involve the lake in one way or another.  Swimming, boating, skiing or tubing, jet-skiing, cookouts, summer lake parties, laying out...  I can't wait for B to grow up here in my hometown and get those same experiences.  She loved the boat and I think she is going to be a lake girl just like her mommy!

Pics of the Week

I thought I would start doing a weekly post with pictures that I have taken throughout the week.  Random pictures of stuff that I like or things that are happening that week.  It is just a way to document what is going on in my life but also a way for you guys to get to know me a little better too!  Some weeks may be more interesting than others and some weeks may have more pictures than others.  I will really try to do this once a week.  I should probably designate a day each week and that would help.  Megan from In This Wonderful Life does a weekly post like this and I thought is was a great idea.

So here goes!

As I have said before...I love Spring!  Well the Bradford pears have been blooming and this is what they looked like at the beginning of the week with their beautiful white flowers.  This is in our backyard.

Here they are today.  Most of the white flowers have fallen off and they are just so green and pretty now.  You can see the piles of white flowers on the ground.

We got our carpets cleaned this week!  I am so happy with the results.  This is a pic of my living room...with all the furniture out of the way.  The best part was, in order for them to clean the carpet our closet, I had to take all of the clothes out.  This was the perfect opportunity for me to do a little downsizing.  I gave away almost 3 bags of my clothes and we are still working on Lonnie's side.  I'll post pictures of it when we are done.  For some reason the carpet looks pink in this picture...hmmmm.....

Thursday was my birthday and the girls at work got me these cupcakes.  Of course there were more but I couldn't get a picture until we all scarfed a few down.  My mom, Jenni (my aunt), and my Grand also got me a super cute Italian cream cake but I forgot to take a picture!

My Grand got me these stemless wine glasses that I have been wanting.  Much harder to spill these.  I will say you miiiiiiiight could fit half a bottle of wine in each one...they are huge!  I will be putting these to good use...after about 7 more months.  Until then I am sure my honey will enjoy them for me :)

Jenni got me this beautiful plate.  I am not sure what I am going to do with it yet.  It seems too pretty to sit on the counter and collect our keys and change.  My mom got me a flower pot and an awesome solar stake light to put in the pot.  I will post a pic of that when I get some flowers in the pot.

This is a picture of me and my niece, Syble.  We went to my mother-in-laws house Friday night to hang out with my husbands brother, Marshall, and his twins, Collier and Syble.  My sister-in-law, Kristen, couldn't come.  I think she and I sat in this chair and played games on my iPhone or the iPad all night.  She loves me.  I love her.  :)

We decided to tell them about our pregnancy.  They live about three hours away and we really wanted to tell them in person.  We were sad that Kristen couldn't be there but we had to go for it or it could be another couple of months before we saw all of them together.

When we got there we took the kids (they are twins and almost 6) into another room and told them we had a surprise for them.  We asked them if they wanted a baby cousin.  They nodded.  I said that the surprise was that Uncle Lonnie and Aunt Kelly were going to have a baby.  They both started smiling and then Syble said "You know what Aunt Kelly?  We have been praying for you every night to have a baby!"  This nearly brought me to tears.  Marshall and Kristen have known about our struggles and I just find that so sweet.  So then we told them that their daddy didn't know yet and we wanted them to tell him.  So Syble went into the kitchen and whispered to Marshall that he was going to be an uncle and Collier then handed him our most recent ultrasound picture.  He was beyond excited.  He gave Lonnie and I a huge hug and we all cried.  It was so special.  Then the kids called their mom and told her she was going to be an aunt.  She was super excited and I talked to her on the phone for a while about all the details.  It was all really, really, really fun!  I am pretty sure that is all we talked about the rest of the night!

This is a picture that Syble drew of me.  I am holding my baby....how cute!
(kinda looks like I have a penis but we will just ignore that!)

It was very exciting to be able to tell them since we haven't been able to surprise anyone in our family with the news.  It made it feel even more real.  It did make us a little nervous but I am not focusing on that.  I am just focusing on being excited!

Hope it is a beautiful weekend where you are!

AND happy first day of Spring!!!

Beta #2 and Spring Please Hurry!

Beta #2 was today and it was 311.  This is just perfect and I couldn’t be happier.  This is really happening.  I go back in two weeks for an ultrasound.  By my calculations I will be 6 weeks 3 days then.
Oh there is absolutely no way I can wait that long to look!  Are you kidding me??
How am I supposed to scan people all day long at work and not take a peek at my own uterus?  PSSSHHHHH.....not happening!  I mean tell me all you girls would do the same!  I think I will wait until at least 5 weeks....that will be next Tuesday.  At 5 weeks I should see a gestational sac....maybe more....
The only people that we have told are the people that knew we were going through IVF.  My mom, my mother-in-law, my aunt, 3 of my friends (one of which went through IVF and now has twins), and my boss at work.  It freaks me out that this many people know, although I know none of them will tell.  I have seen them all keep secrets before ;)
It is weird though.  I feel like I am walking around with the words I AM PREGNANT tattooed on my forehead!
My husband is the cutest thing ever and I love him so much.  Here are just a few of the texts that I got while I was at work yesterday....
-You have to start flossing your teeth once a day...good dental care is good for pregnancy (maybe I don’t floss every day)
-You can’t be around cats (I’m allergic anyway)
-You can’t clean up anymore dog puke (Darwin tends to randomly puke and I am totally fine not cleaning it up anymore!)
-Wear a mask around ANY patient that looks or acts like they have the flu (ummm....they all act like they have the flu...)
-Have you had the chicken pox?
-We have to weigh you tonight (yeah that didn’t happen...at night? really??)
Seriously....is he not so cute?  I mean he is so worried and I love that about him although it might drive me crazy later  ;)
In other news.....I AM SO SICK OF THE SNOW!!  I live in Arkansas people...not Minnesota!  It is supposed to snow once a year, like maybe 2 inches.  Well not this year!  This is like our 4th snow and each one has been major (for the south)!  We got 8-10 inches on Wednesday and the entire city shut down completely.  Actually it was shut down before it even started snowing.  I had to work that day and it wasn’t bad driving to work but on the way home....totally different story.  I couldn’t even see the road.  Thank goodness for 4 wheel drive!  Here are a few pics of my drive home.  Yes I took pictures while driving but I was only going 5 MPH!!

That's right....where the crack is the road?@!#$!??

A couple pictures from my house

And just because it is so cool...a picture of my mom's bottle tree!

Yes...I agree...the snow is pretty.  But we have had enough.  I am so ready for spring!  I want 75-80 degrees with a breeze.  I want pedicures and flip flops.  I want sundresses and a tan.  I want walks through the neighborhood with my honey looking at all the flowers.

Come on

Daffodils mean spring is near!

I heart hydrangeas.  My entire wedding was based on this flower and color!

and daisies...just because they are awesomeness!

Doesn't it make everyone just a lil' happier to see these flower pics???

I keep reading about all these BFP's on different blogs and I am so happy for everyone.  For those of you still waiting...I think about you everyday and I can't wait to read your BFP stories in the coming days, weeks, and months!  Stay strong girlies!
