Kelly Belly-16 weeks (a day late)

How Far Along16 weeks....as in four months....holy smokes!

Size of Baby: Avocado....way to go baby!

Maternity Clothes I need to go shopping.  I have been staying in my workout pants every day.  I have never been so thankful to wear scrubs to work!  I am going to be making a trip to Target in the next week so hopefully I will find some things there.  AND now that it is warming back up I can switch back to dresses and leggings.  So comfy...  This is how my jeans are being held up if I can't wear the belly band.

Weight Gain I think that I have gained another pound but I'm not sure.  I go back to the doctor next week.

Stretch Marks:  same as before pregnancy

Sleephas been better this week.  I am not sure why but it might have something to do with the rain (not storms) that we have been having.

Best Moment of the Week Well.....there are a few.  The first was sitting at my aunt's house with her and my mom discussing baby names.  That was super fun and we came up with a few new ones.  But I have to say that very best moment was yesterday because I found out the sex!!!!

Movementnot yet but hopefully soon.  Two days ago I was sitting in the recliner and I felt a little popping way down there on the left side for just a few seconds.  Before I even realized it to pay more attention it had stopped.  It could have been something but I am totally not convinced.  That was 15w6d....

Symptomsstill just the headaches.  They suck but I am totally willing to deal with them.  I have yet to take any Tylenol.  My boobs are ginormous...like seriously.  I mean I was a very small girl to start with so they might not be big to some BUT for me they are rockin'.....and it is awesome.

Food Cravings/Aversions: I am still on the Lemonade.  Other than that I really haven't had any cravings this week.

GenderI know but I am not saying just yet....that is going to have its own post :)

What I MissWe went to Outback last night and I was so excited because I LOVE the blue cheese chopped salad.  Only when we were about to order did I realize that I'm not supposed to eat blue cheese.  It was sad....  So I guess this week I miss that BUT NOTHING compares to being pregnant!

What I'm Looking Forward to feeling the baby move and buying stuff now that we know the sex!

Weekly Wisdom: I'm fresh out of wisdom this week

Milestones: I'm 16 weeks...as in four months pregnant!  That is just mind-boggling.....

Dreams:  I haven't had any dreams that I can remember this week.  I was writing them down when I woke up and I forgot to do that this week so of course I can't remember.

This is just a random thing that I want to remember.  Every night when I'm laying in bed I always talk to my little one and tell he/she how proud I am at how far they have come.  He/She is doing so well and I just have so much love in my heart.

The first pic is in the same clothes that I have been taking my pictures in...

This is a 16 week picture in just some normal clothes.   This shirt was not that fitted.....I am pulling it tight with my other hand so you can see the teeny baby bump :)

Hope everyone is having a good week!  Yea for sunshine!!!

OUR Royal Wedding

Yes, I did watch the Royal Wedding.  I didn't care about any of the hoopla leading up to it but, I mean, I am a girl....I'm a sucker for a wedding!  Also I just think Kate is beautiful and they seem so in love and happy.  I had to watch.  I did not get up at 4 am, I recorded it and watched it when I got up.

I love tradition.  I love pomp and circumstance.  I love pageantry.  These are the reasons that I watched this stuff ALL day long.  Oh and I am a hopeless romantic.  I mean she woke up that day a commoner and went to bed a princess!!!!  Hello?  That is awesomeness!  I also think the Queen is amazing.  The woman has been queen for a gazillion years and has almost NO  wrinkles!  How is that possible?  She is the original HBIC.  (if you don't know what that means...google it)

And can we just talk for a second about how hot David Beckham looked?  There really are no words for this amount of hotness.  It should be illegal.  My husband knows that I feel this way and he understands.  I love him for that :)

But anyway, Kate looked amazing like we all knew she would.  My favorite part was when she finally made it to the alter and William looked at her and told her she looked beautiful.  That was just too sweet.  I might have cried.

My other favorite part was during the ceremony the archbishop said that every wedding was a royal wedding.  I could not agree more!  Every wedding is special and is celebrating the same thing.  We may not all have a jillion dollars to spend but none of that really matters anyway.  It is all about committing your life to the one you love.  No matter how big or small the wedding they are all just as meaningful.

So on that note I thought that I would share with you guys a little bit about OUR Royal Wedding!

Lonnie and I got engaged on May 16,2007.  Here is our engagement picture

We got married on October 6, 2007.  Yes I planned my wedding in a little over 3 months.  I wouldn't do it any other way.  Less time to stress out.  We both wanted a somewhat small wedding...intimate.  The problem came in when I told my dad to make a list of people he absolutely HAD to invite.  That list was over 100 people long.  Since he was paying we sort of had to go with it :)

We got married at The Arlington Hotel which is a very old and historic hotel in the city where I live.  It has a beautiful ballroom and that is where our ceremony was.  Our reception was in a large room adjacent to the ballroom.  My wedding colors were hydrangea blue and white.  The flowers were blue and white hydrangeas, white roses, and white calla lilies.  Everything was beautiful!  Now for a picture overload!

getting ready!

This is right when the doors to the ballroom opened and me and my dad started walking down the aisle.

This is right after we got married and when we were walking out of the ballroom.

This post has gotten pretty long so I will post some pics of my reception tomorrow.  As you can see, I have been playing around with putting a watermark on my pics.  I am going to continue to do this on my family pictures.  It actually isn't too difficult!

Feel free to share about YOUR Royal Wedding!

Pics of the week 5 and Blog Award

First of all I want to apologize for being a bit absent from the blog world this week.  My internet has been in and out because of the storms.  It has taken me three days to get this post up!  I have been reading all your blogs from my phone but it wouldn't let me comment from my phone...very frustrating!

I did not take the first two pictures.  If I would have seen this I am pretty sure I would have had a small heart attack or passed out.  This was the first tornado that hit us Monday afternoon.  This one was about 5 miles from my house.

This was the second and larger, more devastating tornado that hit us.  This one hit just a mile or two away from me.  Ummmm.....scary????  I just can't believe all of the devastation that has occurred across the southern states because of these tornadoes.  It just blows my mind.  I am so thankful that we were unharmed because there were so many people that were not as lucky.  It just breaks my heart.

The only damage we had at our house from the storms was that our dock broke away and floated off just a few feet.  It would have sailed off down the lake but we had it tied up to a tree.  Our neighbors had their dock tied to a tree as well and the current was so strong that it pulled the tree down.  And, no, we would have never thought to tie up our dock but we learned the hard way.  Two years, ago on Christmas Eve we woke up and our dock was no where to be found.  It had floated off down the lake and cost us a frickin' fortune to get them to bring it back!  So here is our dock with our first baby in it which we can't get to...

This is the walkway that had detached and was on the bottom of the lake now.  It could have been much worse for sure!

During the night the water came up all the way over our seawall and into our yard.  This is a picture of all the fish that got trapped behind the seawall when the water went back down.  There were probably 50 fish like this just lining our seawall.  It did not smell good....

A couple of days after the storm it was finally a pretty day.  We decided to try to take the jeep for a ride.  We had to charge the battery and that is why the hood is up.  Lonnie is putting on our new antique license plate that you may remember me talking about here.  Jeepin' is what we call it here in the south :)

This is sweet Darwin hiding during the storms.  All you can see is his nose!

This picture probably won't mean much to anyone that doesn't know this little dog.  She is my Grand's dog and her name is Katie.  She weighs 5 pounds and is mean as hell.  Oh not to Grand....just everyone else.  She will snap at you if you try to pet her and it will scare the crap out of you even though she is tiny.  Lonnie was determined for her to like him.  On Easter this is what I found.....they were snuggling...although he does look a little nervous, doesn't he?

I couldn't resist adding this picture.  Lonnie needed to fix the sprinkler intake pump and it is in the lake.  It is shallow but he was still going to have to get wet above his ankles.  So, I had the bright idea that he should wear my rain boots!  Doesn't he look cute?  His feet were so smashed in there...it looked very uncomfortable....

Ok and now on to the award!  Bridget from Our Lost Stork gave me this wonderful award.

I am so happy that I found her blog because we are very close to each other in our pregnancies (along with a few others!).  No one in my real life is pregnant so it is nice to be able to share things and see what everyone else feels like!  Thanks again, Bridget!

So, here's how it works:

  1. Winners grab the image and put it in your blog.
  2. Link back to the person who gave you it.
  3. Tell 10 things about yourself
  4. Award 15 recently discovered bloggers.
  5. Contact the bloggers you have awarded to let them know they have won.
Ok so here are 10 random things about myself.
  1. I really love flowers and plants but I always end up killing them....
  2. When I was a senior in high school my fast pitch softball team won state...we were badass...
  3. I love candles....Bath and Body Works has some awesome ones but I only buy them when they are on sale because they are so expensive!
  4. I wear contacts and can't see crap if I don't have them in.
  5. I love roller coasters and I can't wait to ride them with my kids.  (my husband hates them!)
  6. On my first date with my husband I got locked in the bathroom and couldn't get out.  I about had a panic attack wondering what the heck he was thinking about me being in the bathroom so long.  Turns out you just had to turn the handle upward instead of downward.....I have been terrified of getting locked in a public bathroom since then.
  7. I enjoy reading about history and wish I did it more.  I wanted to be a history major but all I could really do with that is teach and that was not for me.
  8. I watched the Royal Wedding and cried....whole post about that coming up :)
  9. I love mindless reality TV....Teen mom, Rock of Love, 16 and Pregnant, Jersey Shore, etc.  It is awful and I am not proud of it.
  10. I have a younger brother!
OK and these are the blogs I am giving this award.  I know I am not going to make it to 15 because I am going to try to not double up.  Here goes...

Kelly Belly-15 weeks

How Far Along15 weeks!!!!!!!!

Size of Babysize of a navel orange or a small apple...

Maternity Clothes Not yet but most of my clothes do not fit, especially my jeans.  I went out for girls night on Wednesday and made the mistake of wearing my jeans.  When I put them on I thought they were ok....comfortable.  I forgot to take into consideration that I was going to be sitting down all night!  They came unbuttoned pretty quick!  I need to go shopping for myself like right now....

Weight Gain up 2 pounds.  I haven't weighed since my dr appointment which was two weeks ago.  I am sure I have gained more but I don't trust my scale at home :)

Stretch Marks:  just the same as before pregnancy.  I have noticed my boobs itching quite a bit lately so I have been lathering up all the time with lotion.  I am using Palmer's Cocoa Butter.  I like it but it does leave me feeling kinda sticky.  I am sure I will get stretch marks on my boobs at some point.  I didn't really have much to work with!

Sleep: sore subject!  I still haven't gotten a body or pregnancy pillow!  We have had some MAJOR storms and tornadoes here this week and some of them were in the middle of the night so not much sleep for me even if I was comfortable.

Best Moment of the Week: Well, honestly, the best thing this week was that our house, our families, and friends were saved from the tornadoes that that rocked our state.  There is a lot of destruction and some lost lives.  It was very scary and I am just thankful that we were spared.  I will try to post some pics in my pics of the week post coming up.

Movement: not yet but I am excited to feel it!

Symptoms: I feel great most of the time.  I am still tired but I can tell that I am getting a little more energy.  I only take a nap a couple of times a week instead of every day!  I would say my main symptom is headaches.  They are pretty kick ass!  I have them about every other day.  Sometimes when I get them I need to eat even though I am not hungry and that will help.  Sometimes I just need to nap and that will help.  Oh, and round ligament pain.  That has kicked up this week....mostly on the left side.  I feel it when I change positions too fast but mostly at night when I am laying on my side.  Weird....but cool at the same time!

Food Cravings/Aversions: Still loving the Simply Lemonade.  I am also having a hard time not eating like three ice cream sandwiches a day.  I want them all the time!  I also want chicken spaghetti for dinner every night.

Gender: Hmmmmm......we shall see :)

What I Miss: not a thing this week!

What I'm Looking Forward to: everything really!  Sometimes I just can't believe that this is happening.  I mean I am 15 weeks pregnant!  I am starting to look pregnant.  My boobs are huge (for me anyway).  I just love everything about it and I cherish every single day.

Weekly Wisdom This is going to be way too much info but, ya know, if I can help a girl out I want to!  If you feel the need to poo.....DO IT!  Don't hold back because, trust me, you do not want to be constipated!  It sucks!

Milestones: Well 15 weeks feels like a major milestone.  Baby boo is getting so big!

Dreams: My dreams are so weird but I like that I am documenting them because otherwise I found NEVER remember!  And it is kinda funny :)
1)  I was Mario (as in Mario and Luigi) and I had to save Florence (from Florence + The Machine).  I had to go through all of the levels and just when I though I had found her they would whisk her away and I had to go through the underwater world to save her....or the quicksand world...or the ice world....
2)  I was in labor in my bedroom.  I was going to have a home birth.  All of my family and friends were in the living room and not allowed in the bedroom.  My mom's friend Beth, who was my wedding coordinator, was my labor coordinator.  It was weird....I just remember rolling around on the bed telling my husband that I didn't want a home birth and I wanted to go to the hospital!

I decided to do a comparison photo this week.

This was two weeks ago at 13 weeks.....

And this is today at 15 weeks!  Wow!  I love it!

I keep telling myself I am going to take my pictures when I am dressed up and of my whole body but I haven't been getting dressed up!

Thanks for reading!  I won an award and I'll be blogging about that soon....as well as my pics of the week post.....

Rain Rain Go Away

I swear it has been raining for weeks.  Seriously...

It is making me depressed....

We have had multiple severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings in the past week.  I really do not like tornadoes.  When we are under a watch I sit glued to the TV.  A couple of days ago I even prepared the closet downstairs for us if we needed it.  I put a bunch of pillows down there, some blankets, and my computer.  I came very close to taking all of my photo albums down there too.  Yes, I realize that this is a little overboard but I just get a little freaky during storms.  Pretty sure pregnancy makes this worse...

I have always been scared of storms.  I think this dates back to when I was in 2nd grade.  A little story for y'all....

Me and my best friend at the time, Sarah, were staying the night at a condo on the lake with her mom, her sister, and her sisters' friends.  It was her older sister's birthday party and we were just tagging along.  We were 7.  It was storming outside but no one thought anything of it.  All of the sudden around midnight there was a crazy pounding at the door to the condo followed by a total freak out by two 7 year-olds and a ton of teenage girls.  It was the cops and they were there to evacuate because it was flooding.  We gathered all of our important stuff and were led out by the cops.  Little did we know but it had already flooded the entire first floor.  I had to swim with the cop to the car because the water was already chest high on me.  I don't even remember where they took us...all I remember was that it had one whole wall that was windows.  I just sat there watching the lightening and the trees swaying...totally freaking out.

My parents could not get to me so they had one of their friends who lived close come pick me up...BY BOAT!!

Needless to say, I was traumatized.  I have been scared of storms ever since.

So I am ready for the April showers to be over!!!!!

In other news, my honey is off this week and we are going to start cleaning out the rooms and closets downstairs.  This makes me happy....this stresses him out.  I am trying to make it fun for him.  I told him we can listen to music and he can drink as much scotch or wine that he wants.  That really didn't help.  He just doesn't like to purge things.  I, on the other hand, LOVE getting rid of things.  I would do it myself but he won't let me because he thinks that I will just throw everything away.  I just might!

I told him that he can do absolutely nothing this weekend if he will give me two full days next week of purging and organizing.  He keeps trying to come up with things that he has to do.  Yeah, that isn't going to work.  Oh, and get this.  He told me that all the men that he has talked to tell him to just put off the cleaning and organizing because later on I will start nesting and do it all myself anyway.  I told him to have those guys call me and I will set them strait ;)

So here is to a lazy weekend of watching movies and eating bad food.  Oh the things I have to do to get him to help me organize!

Kelly Belly-14 weeks

How Far Along14 weeks!!!!!!!!

Size of Babysize of a lemon

Maternity Clothesno just my stretchy workout pants and flowy shirts.  I did wear one of my maternity shirts/dresses last night to dinner.  This was the shirt I talked about in my Kelly Belly post last week that is made to wear throughout your pregnancy and even after.  The brand is True Light for those that are interested!  I am wearing it in my photo below.  This was the first time I wore something in public that showed off my little belly.

Weight GainI was up 2 pounds at my appointment last Thursday.

Stretch Marksno new ones

Sleeppretty awful this week.  I can't seem to get comfortable.  I am not comfortable on my stomach or my back so I have to sleep on my sides.  (Which I know I am going to have to get used to!)  This leads to my hips hurting me all night long.  I need a body pillow STAT!  I tried to go get one this morning but Bed, Bath, and Beyond did not have any.  :(

Best Moment of the Weekhearing my little boo's heartbeat at my appointment!

Movementnot yet.

Symptomssame as last week...not really any change.  I have started having some pains on my sides really low...almost in my groin.  This is apparently round ligament pain...which I have heard of but never experienced.  How cool!

Food Cravings/Aversions: I finally found Simply Lemonade and I am so in love with it this week.  I find myself wanting to drink that instead of my water.  I also got some caffeine free Diet Dr. Pepper.  I was a Diet Dr. Pepper addict until Jan. 1 this year.  It tasted wonderful and really seems to help if I get nauseated at all.  I am only having about one every other day.  Still not liking steak....

Genderwe will know very soon ;)

What I Missnot a single thing compares to being pregnant.  If I had to pick something it would be wine.  I really enjoy having a glass of wine on the deck when my husband gets home.

What I'm Looking Forward tofinding out the sex.  Also, I am looking forward to getting started cleaning out the downstairs closet when Lonnie is off next week.  I will have a post on all of that coming up soon.  Basically we have a lot of room maneuvering to do before baby gets here!

Weekly WisdomDon't get worked up when people say stupid things.  I swear if I hear the words "Oh you're going to be big pregnant in the hottest part of summer" one more time!!!  It was seriously irritating me but I realized I just needed to let it go.

Milestonessecond doctor appointment down!  I go back in a month

Dreams: Last night I dreamed all about tornadoes...running outside in a tornado, driving through a tornado, being on our boat during a tornado....it was awful!  We had some bad weather a few days ago and we are expected to have some more tonight.  Great....I hate tornadoes....

This is the maternity shirt/dress.  I think once I get bigger I wont be able to wear it as a dress with leggings!

I think that I have decided to post something on Facebook this week.  I'm not exactly sure what I am going to say but I have and idea.  Something along the lines of how grateful I am to be having this experience.  We will see...still kinda nervous about it :)
